Isn't my regular towel protecting me from the sun? No

Answer is simply No.  The average cotton towel (terry cloth or turkish) only has a UPF factor between 5-7.  When your regular towel gest wet, your towel drops to about UPF 3, which exposes your skin to harmful UV radiation.
